Porsches are built to last, but a few issues come up again and again, especially as the cars age in Singapore's heat and stop-start traffic:

• PDK clutch wear. On heavily driven cars the dual-clutch wears, and shifts start to feel hesitant or jerky. We diagnose whether it is a clutch, a mechatronic issue, or just an overdue fluid service.
• Air suspension. Macan, Cayenne and Panamera air struts and the compressor are common failure points. A corner that sits low overnight is the classic sign.
• Aircon. Compressors, expansion valves and cooling coils give up in our climate. Weak or warm cooling is one of the most common reasons Porsche owners come in.
• Cooling system. Coolant pipes, the water pump and thermostat get brittle and weep over time, more so on older 911 generations.
• Engine quirks. Bore scoring on older Boxster and Cayman, plus the usual oil and gasket leaks on higher-mileage cars.

Regular servicing keeps a Porsche reliable and protects its value. We follow Porsche's service intervals, typically every 10,000km or 6 months, and tailor the work to your model, mileage and age. As standard we use Mobil 1 Gold 0W-40, the right oil for these engines.

A service covers the engine oil and filter, cabin and air filters, brake fluid and coolant where due, a transmission fluid service when scheduled, and a full inspection of the brakes, suspension and cooling.
