Spark plugs and ignition coils on the Audi Q3

Aircon cooling coil repairs on the Audi Q3

The cooling coil absorbs cabin heat as refrigerant passes through it. A leak can bring weak cooling, uneven vent temperature, a musty smell or repeated loss of cooling performance. Waiting can make the compressor work harder and allow moisture or corrosion to affect more of the system.
We use ODIS to check control faults, measure vent temperature and system pressures, then trace leaks with dye. We document the evidence and quote the failed cooling coil or other leak source, not unrelated aircon parts, before work starts.
When repair may be needed: Coil replacement follows a confirmed leak or blockage found on a pressure or dye test, not age. Reduced cooling has several possible causes, so the coil is condemned only once the test points to it.
Maintenance and early warning signs: Change the cabin filter on schedule and keep the aircon drain clear. Owners often tell us about a musty smell at start-up; in our experience it comes from the coil staying wet after the engine is cut, and basement parking makes it worse. Switching the compressor off shortly before you park and letting the fan run until the air is no longer cold helps the coil dry out. Early signs: that smell, water in the passenger footwell, cooling that fades over weeks.

Maintenance and early warning signs: Short trips and daily aircon use are hard on a battery in Singapore; give the car a longer run where you can, switch accessories off before the engine, and park in shade. Early signs: slow cranking, lights dimming at idle, stop-start no longer working, a warning about the auxiliary battery, electrical warnings that come and go.
