Every row below comes from a documented job at our Sin Ming workshop, written up as a case study. Where the job record has the exact bill, that figure is shown; where the record was approximate, the figure is shown as about that amount, word for word from the case. The honest answer: how much does car repair cost in Singapore?
It depends on what failed, and anyone who quotes you a firm number before diagnosing the car is guessing. On this page, a documented emergency fuel system clean cost $250, and most full gearbox overhauls start from about $2,000. Gearbox diagnosis is always free, every quote is honest and itemised before any work begins, and major repairs can be paid in instalments via Atome, Grab and Shopee.
Prices appear exactly as published on each case study. Some figures state before GST, nett or with GST; where a figure does not say, the tax treatment is not specified in the write-up, so confirm it in your own itemised quote. Oil and coolant leaks

Electrical, sensors and control units
Electrical faults are diagnosis-led, so the parts bill varies widely with the component that failed. We read the car with the right diagnostic system for its marque first, so you replace the part that failed, not a list of guesses. Electrical repairs carry a warranty of at least 6 months; on reconditioned major components, such as a hybrid battery, the warranty is the component's own, as stated in the case study.

What actually moves the price
Four things decide most repair bills in Singapore. The make and model: premium marques need dearer parts and more careful labour. The type of unit: a CVT is typically more expensive to overhaul than a conventional automatic, and a DSG fault often needs its own targeted scope. The extent of the damage: coolant in a gearbox, or a leak left for a year, turns one repair into three. And the parts grade quoted: we state whether a quote uses new OEM-grade parts or quality reconditioned units, in writing. That is also why the honest quote comes after diagnosis, not before.
