We chase the knock, not the invoice

Suspension noises mislead. We test-drive, put the car on the lift, and load each joint until we find the exact worn component. Then we fix that, not the whole corner.

Honest quote before any work

Every part and labour line quoted and approved before we start. We show you the worn absorber, arm or bushing next to the new one. No surprises.

Quality parts & instalment

Quality OEM-grade absorbers, arms and bushings for continental and Japanese cars alike. Spread the cost with Atome, Grab or Shopee.

The honest answer: How much does car suspension repair cost in Singapore?

It depends entirely on which component is worn, which is why we test-drive and inspect before quoting, and you approve the exact price first. Documented jobs from our workshop include a Jaguar F-Pace front absorber replacement at $2,560 for the absorbers plus $520 for linkages and $240 labour before GST, and a Subaru Forester front lower arm with ball joint at about $485 per arm before GST plus labour and alignment. WhatsApp us the symptom and your car model, and our team will tell you what it likely is.

We repair suspension for continental and Japanese cars, from everyday makes to Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi, replacing the exact worn component with quality OEM-grade parts.

That Knock Is the Car Telling You Something

Singapore roads look smooth, but your suspension disagrees: speed humps in every carpark, kerb ramps, expansion joints on every flyover, and the daily stop-start pitch of CTE traffic. Every one of those cycles works the absorbers, arms, ball joints and bushings, and rubber parts age in our heat whether you drive hard or not.

Worn suspension is sneaky because it fails gradually. The ride gets a little floatier, the knock only happens on certain humps, and you adjust without noticing. Meanwhile the worn joint hammers its neighbours, tyres wear unevenly, and braking distances quietly grow, because a wheel that is bouncing is a wheel that isn't gripping. The fix is almost always cheaper the earlier the worn part is caught.

How We Find the Exact Worn Part

Suspension noises are famous for misleading drivers, and plenty of workshops respond by quoting the whole corner. We don't work that way.

First, a test drive over the kinds of surfaces that trigger your symptom, because a knock that only appears on left turns tells a different story from one that appears on every hump. Then the car goes on the lift and our team loads each component with a bar: ball joints, bushings, stabiliser links, absorber mounts. A worn joint moves when it shouldn't, and we'll show you exactly that movement.

You get photos, the worn parts named, and an itemised quote. If a stabiliser link is the culprit, that is what we quote. If the absorbers are leaking oil and due, we show you the wet absorber. The suspension knock on a Subaru Forester turned out to be exactly one worn lower arm ball joint per side, found this way.

Suspension Repair Cost in Singapore

The honest answer is that suspension cost depends on which component is worn and what your car is. A stabiliser link and a set of adaptive absorbers are completely different bills. Instead of a made-up range, here is real, documented work from our workshop:

  • A Jaguar F-Pace front absorber and linkage replacement: $2,560 for the absorbers, $520 for the linkages and $380 for a battery that was due, plus $240 labour, all before GST and all approved first. Read the case study.
  • A Lexus IS F-Sport adaptive (AVS) absorber replacement on all four corners: $5,500 nett, all-in. Adaptive absorbers cost more than passive ones, and this case shows the honest upper end. Read the case study.
  • A Subaru Forester front lower arm with ball joint: about $485 per arm before GST, plus labour and alignment. Read the case study.

Your car gets its own itemised quote before any work begins, and you can browse more documented jobs with prices in our car repair cost guide.

Air Suspension Is Its Own Specialty

If your car rides on air suspension, a Porsche Macan or Cayenne, a Range Rover, a Mercedes with AIRMATIC, the failure modes are different: compressors, air struts, valve blocks and height sensors instead of coil springs and passive dampers. A car sagging overnight or stuck in a low ride height is an air-suspension signature, not a worn absorber.

We handle that work too, with dealer-level diagnostics to read the suspension control unit properly. It has its own dedicated page: air suspension repair in Singapore. This page covers conventional suspension: absorbers, springs, control arms, ball joints, bushings and links.

Why Alignment Comes After Suspension Work

Whenever a control arm, ball joint or absorber has been replaced, the wheel geometry has been disturbed, and the job is not finished until the alignment is set back to specification. Skipping it is how a fresh suspension repair ends up eating a pair of tyres.

We check and set alignment as part of suspension work whenever the geometry has been touched, and we road-test the car before handover so you collect a car that tracks straight, rides the way it should, and stops squarely. If your tyres are already wearing on one edge, mention it when you WhatsApp us. That wear pattern is evidence, and it helps us find the cause faster.

FAQ on Car Suspension Repair

Straight answers to the questions Singapore drivers actually ask us about suspension:

What does a knocking sound over humps mean?

Most often a worn ball joint, control arm bushing or stabiliser link; sometimes a worn absorber top mount. Each has its own signature, which is why we test-drive and then load each joint on the lift to find the exact worn part, instead of quoting the whole corner.

How much does suspension repair cost in Singapore?

It depends on the worn component and the car. Documented jobs at our workshop include a Jaguar F-Pace front absorber and linkage replacement at $2,560 plus $520 plus $240 labour before GST, and a Subaru Forester lower arm with ball joint at about $485 per arm before GST plus labour and alignment. Your car gets its own itemised quote, approved by you before any work begins.

How do I know if my shock absorbers are worn?

Common signs: the car keeps bouncing after a bump instead of settling, a floaty feel at expressway speed, nose-diving under braking, oil streaks on the absorber body, and cupped or scalloped tyre wear. On the lift, a leaking absorber is usually visible immediately, and we'll show it to you.

Can I drive with a worn suspension?

For a while, yes, which is exactly why people put it off. But a bouncing wheel grips less, so braking and cornering suffer, tyres wear unevenly, and the worn joint hammers neighbouring components into wearing faster. It is a repair that gets more expensive the longer it waits, and a safety margin you don't want to discover missing in the rain.

Do absorbers need to be replaced in pairs?

Yes, across an axle. A new absorber on one side paired with a tired one on the other gives uneven damping, so the car rides and brakes lopsided. Arms, links and bushings can be replaced individually when only one side is worn, and we check both sides so you know the true picture.

Is it normal for suspension to wear out in Singapore?

Yes. Speed humps in every carpark and HDB estate, kerb ramps, and constant stop-start pitching work the suspension continuously, and our heat ages rubber bushings regardless of mileage. Rubber parts on a car that is eight to ten years old are usually due for attention even when the mileage looks low.

My car has air suspension. Is this the right page?

If your car rides on air, a Macan or Cayenne, Range Rover, or a Mercedes with AIRMATIC, see our dedicated air suspension repair page. Air systems fail differently: compressors, struts, valve blocks and height sensors. We repair both types, with dealer-level diagnostics for the control units.

Will I need a wheel alignment after suspension repair?

If a control arm, ball joint or absorber has been replaced, yes, the geometry has been disturbed and alignment is part of finishing the job properly. It protects your new parts and your tyres, and we road-test the car afterwards to confirm it tracks straight.

Can I pay for suspension repair in instalments?

Yes. We accept instalment payment via Atome, Grab and Shopee.
