What the owner reported
The owner brought the Honda CR-V in for what they described as an oil service and a general check. The car was showing signs of oil use between services and there was a faint oil smell at times. No dashboard lights had come on, and the car was still driving normally.
With an older CR-V VTEC, an oil smell and a rising service frequency can point to one leak or to several, and you do not know which until you put the car on a lift and go through it properly. The owner asked us to do exactly that.
