Over 100 checks before you buy, so you know what you're really getting.
We don't sell the car, so we have no reason to talk it up. We tell you straight what's good, what's worn, and what will cost you later.
You get a clear report of what we found, with the issues that matter and a rough idea of repair costs. Use it to decide or to negotiate the price down.
If the seller or dealer can't bring it to us, we can arrange to collect the car for the inspection so you don't have to chase it around the island.
1 Car Service at Sin Ming AutoCity does independent pre-purchase inspections for used-car buyers in Singapore, rated 4.9 stars from 1,600+ Google reviews. We are not the seller, so the report is honest: the engine and gearbox checked on a best-efforts basis, oil leakage checks, a dealer-level diagnostic scan, accident, flood and rust checks, a road test and a clear written report you can use to negotiate or walk away. The inspection is complimentary when you purchase a S$500 servicing credit (before GST), and if the seller cannot bring the car to us we can arrange to collect it.
Despite the workshop being full, he ensured PPI was carried out soonest with detailed report. Everything was smooth and faster than expected. Model: VW Golf
I obviously visited three other workshops before deciding and I’m glad I chose these guys! What won me over was their confidence, clear understanding of the problem, fair pricing, and realistic timeline. They knew exactly what they were doing which is so important!
The team carried out a proper diagnosis and took the car for a test drive to trace the issue. They identify the suspension problem quickly and explained the cause clearly. Professional service, efficient inspection, and no unnecessary upselling. Good workshop for accurate fault finding on continental cars.
They did comprehensive inspection for my car and give me useful proposal. I like the workshop. No BS, but hard working. Very good experience with 1 car service.

We inspect used continental and Japanese cars before you buy, from everyday makes to Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi, with dealer-level diagnostics and an honest report on what we find.
Engine, gearbox, brakes and suspension, checked on a best-efforts basis so you know how the car actually drives and holds up.
We plug in dealer-level tools to read stored fault codes and warning lights the seller may have cleared or not mentioned.
We look for signs of past accident repair, flood damage and rust, and check the bodywork and panels against what the seller claims.
A proper road test for noises, vibration and how it shifts, then a clear written report you can act on before you commit.
A pre-purchase inspection, or PPI, is an independent check of a used car before you buy it. We go over the car the way we would before any major work: the engine, gearbox, brakes and suspension, plus oil leak checks, a diagnostic scan and a road test. Then we give you a written report on its real condition.
The point is simple. A used car can look spotless and still hide an expensive problem. A PPI puts a qualified set of eyes on the car so you find out before you pay, not after. You can use the report to walk away, to negotiate the price down, or to buy with peace of mind.
Cars are a big purchase here, and the COE means you are often locked in for years. A hidden fault is not just a repair bill. It is a repair bill on top of a car you cannot easily get rid of.
Many used cars are sold privately or as parallel imports with little or no service history. A worn gearbox, a tired engine, past accident or flood damage, or rust under fresh paint can all be hard to spot on a quick test drive. We see the cars that come in after a rushed purchase, when the new owner is already facing a four or five figure repair. A PPI is a small cost to avoid that.
If you are still weighing whether to buy at all, or thinking of selling your current car first, our guide on how to sell your car in Singapore may help you plan the timing.
1. Mechanical condition. We inspect the major items, the engine and gearbox above all, on a best-efforts basis, along with the brakes, suspension and steering, and check for leaks, worn parts and anything that sounds or feels wrong.
2. Oil leakage checks. We check the engine and gearbox for oil leaks and seepage, the kind of problem that turns into an expensive job after you have bought the car.
3. Diagnostic scan. We read stored fault codes with dealer-level tools, including faults a seller may have cleared just before the viewing.
4. Accident, flood and rust history. We look for tell-tale signs of past repairs, panel work, flood damage and rust that a fresh wash or polish can hide.
5. Road test. We drive the car to feel how it pulls, brakes and shifts, and to catch noises and vibration that only show up on the move.
6. Written report. You get a clear summary of what we found, the issues that matter, and a rough idea of what any repairs would cost.
Accessories such as windows, radio and signal lights are not covered by the inspection.
A pre-purchase inspection with us is complimentary when you purchase a S$500 servicing credit (before GST), handy if you are buying the car and plan to service it here anyway. The inspection covers the major items, such as the engine and gearbox, on a best-efforts basis, and includes oil leakage checks and computer diagnostics. An engine compression test is available at S$120 if you want one. Accessories such as windows, radio and signal lights are not covered.
If you decide not to buy that car, nothing is wasted: the credit transfers to another car, or a PPI on another candidate is S$100, which also adds to your credits. It is a small amount next to the price of the car, and far less than the repair bill a hidden fault can bring. Either way you will know the cost before we start, with no surprises.
We are an independent workshop in Sin Ming AutoCity, not a dealer and not the seller, so the report you get is honest. We run dealer-level diagnostics and work on continental and Japanese cars every day, from everyday makes to Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
If the inspection turns up work that needs doing, we can handle it under one roof, whether that is an engine repair or something bigger, and we will always tell you straight what is worth fixing and what is not. You can read more about us on our best car workshop in Singapore page.
A used car is one of the bigger buys you will make, and the one most likely to hide a costly surprise. An independent pre-purchase inspection takes the guesswork out of it. WhatsApp us the car you are looking at and we will tell you what it is really like before you commit.
WhatsApp us the details and we'll arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection, so you know its real condition before you pay.

Yes. We work on continental and Japanese cars every day, including Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi, and we inspect both local and parallel-import used cars.
Often, yes. If we find worn parts or issues that need attention, the written report gives you the facts to negotiate the price down or to decide the car is not worth it.
We tell you straight, with photos and an explanation of how serious it is and roughly what it would cost to fix. You can then walk away, renegotiate, or decide to proceed with your eyes open.
